The initiative, by local funeral home, Perry & Phillips Funeral Directors and Bridgnorth Town Council, provides a special letterbox that offers people - of all ages, a special place to write to someone they love and miss, sharing their thoughts, memories and the words they wish they could still say.

Unveiling the letterbox, a spokesperson for the funeral home said: “Grief can sometimes leave us searching for somewhere to place our feelings. We hope this letter box provides a simple but meaningful way for members of our community to feel connected to those who are no longer with us.

“We are enormously grateful to Amanda and the entire team at Bridgnorth Town Council for embracing this idea and helping us create something that we hope will bring comfort to many local people for years to come.
“This new letter box joins our existing Letters to Heaven letter box at Tasley Rose Garden, giving our community two peaceful and reflective places in Bridgnorth where messages can be written and shared.
“Sometimes, putting our feelings into words can make the distance between heaven and earth feel just a little smaller.”
