An historic home in Bridgnorth that was honoured by a blue plaque this week, is being let as a holiday home.

History lovers can now stay in the former Bridgnorth home of 18th-century timber merchant and boat builder William Oakes, which has been officially renamed William Oakes House in his honour.

Now the historic Georgian house has been made available as a holiday home on Pass the Keys East Shropshire.

The three-bedroom property is spread across three levels and combines its period character with the comforts of a modern holiday home, giving guests the opportunity to experience a piece of Bridgnorth’s history while staying in the town itself.
