Fire-hit Stourbridge road set to remain closed for another week
Racecourse Lane was remain closed to traffic for another week while works continue.
A road at the centre of a devastating wildfire is set to remain closed for another week while works continue.
Dudley Council has said that Racecourse Lane in Stourbridge will continue to remain closed to traffic until Friday, September 11 between Norton Road and Worcester Lane while works at the site continue.
A large number of houses on or adjacent to Racecourse Lane were destroyed or severely damaged in the wildfires, which started on August 13, and the road has remained closed at both ends, with security crews on site.

Traffic is being diverted on a route along Norton Road, Worcester Street, Heath Lane, Hagley Road and Worcester Lane while the work to remove trees damaged in the fire continues.
A spokesman for Dudley Council said: "The restriction is required to safely facilitate ongoing works following fire.
"Access will be maintained for residents and emergency services where safe to do so."
