A scale model of a Red Arrows' Hawk, RAF police vehicles and a sidecar display team are some of the attractions on offer at a free community day at Wolverhampton College on Saturday.

The RAF Town Show, which is taking place at the college's Wellington Road campus in Bilston, is an opportunity for local people to find out more about the role of the service, take part in a range of activities and find out about career opportunities available.

Attractions on offer include the chance to sit in the RAF Hawk, get hands-on with systems used by the RAF Regiment and try on equipment worn by RAF air crew.

Visitors can watch cookery demonstrations by RAF chefs in a field catering tent, see RAF police vehicles, find out about the role of the specialist air and space operations team, and don virtual reality headsets to find out how the service is at the forefront of technology.

Those interested in a career in the service can speak to the West Midlands careers engagement team from RAF Cosford about different roles available and find out about current vacancies for RAF firefighters.

The show runs from 10am to 4pm and booking is not required.

The event has been organised in partnership with the Department of Work and Pensions.
