As thousands of teenagers prepare to pick up their A-level results, the Express & Star wants you to capture the big moment on camera.

There are set to be nerves, tears and joy at colleges and schools across the region and we want to see your images capturing the thrills and spills of the big day.

Hundreds of people proudly sent in photographs of youngsters dressing up for their leavers' proms and now the Express & Star will be following that up with galleries of teens celebrating their exam results. The results will determine university places and even chosen career paths for young people in the region, and the photographs will capture the emotion of the occasion, whatever the outcome.

They could feature you celebrating or commiserating with your friends as you open the envelope, or sharing the news with family or teachers.

Photographs need to be sent to picturedesk@expressandstar.co.uk along with names, ages, addresses, schools, grades and any messages.

The best of the pictures will feature in the newspaper, while lots more will be posted on the newspaper's website at www.expressandstar.com

Internet editor Tim Walters said pictures of the proms had been very popular and he was keen to see that success repeated with pictures of results day. "We had our biggest and best year yet with the proms and it would be great if we could repeat that response with the A-level results," he said.

We will be following the A-level exams with a picture round-up of the GCSE results, which are due to come out on August 21.

This year's prom photographs included shots of five-star hotels, dazzling dresses and unique modes of transport, including fire engines, Ferraris, and even monster trucks.

Whatever your grades, share your long-awaited A-level results with your counterparts across the region.
