Couple convicted after man seriously injured from being hit by car twice in Wolverhampton
A man has been convicted of attempted murder after he used his car to hit a man in a Wolverhampton street.
Melvin Winters and Josie James have been convicted following an incident in Pope Road, in the Scotlands, Wolverhampton, where a man was hit with a car twice.
The conviction was made after West Midlands Police officers were called to the scene of the potentially fatal collision at around 2.20pm, on July 2.

On arrival, they discovered the 42-year-old victim who was being treated for serious injuries to his legs, ribs and shoulders by paramedics before he was taken to the hospital.
Police enquiries quickly established that the man had been struck by a black Vauxhall Insignia, which was found abandoned in the nearby Masefield Mews, at around 3.05 the same day.
With CCTV evidence, investigators discovered that Winters and James had met the victim that afternoon, and there was an argument.
The victim began walking away before Winters, then hit him with the car, knocking him over.
Winters then drove around, and while the man was still on the ground, hit him with the car a second time.
As the man lay badly injured, James got out of the car and took a gold chain from him, before she and Winters drove off, leaving the victim behind.

The pair were traced by officers, who arrested them at separate addresses on July 5.
Winters, aged 46, denied attempted murder, and both he and James, aged 32, denied robbery.
However, following a trial at Wolverhampton Crown Court, they were both convicted of the charges on Thursday, December 18.
Winters and James, both from Bushbury, will be sentenced on February 10.
DC Reece Markham, from the West Midlands Police major crime unit, said: "Whatever the reason for the argument, using a car as a weapon to injure someone is horrendous and could have resulted in the victim losing their life.
"For the passenger of the car to have seen what happened and then get out to rob the victim as he lay on the ground, without offering him any help, is appalling.
"Despite both of them denying the charges and refusing to take responsibility for their callous actions, they have rightly been convicted of this crime."
