Man arrested after Birmingham crash tragedy - police issue new appeal
A man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after another man was killed and a woman seriously injured in Birmingham yesterday.
The tragedy happened when a car collided with two pedestrians on Soho Road, at the junction near Whitehall Road, shortly before 11.20am.
The man, aged 54, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene, while a woman, aged 47, remains in hospital today with injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening.
The driver of the vehicle fled the scene, but the Vauxhall Corsa involved was recovered nearby.
West Midlands Police arrested a 41-year-old man just before 9am today, and he will be questioned in due course.
Officers would like to speak to anyone who may have been in the area at the time and saw what happened or has any dash cam or mobile phone footage.
