Man charged with theft after food and drink stolen from shops across Wolverhampton

A man has been charged with four counts of theft after items were taken from shops from across Wolverhampton.

West Midlands Police have said that Ryan Mattox had been arrested on Saturday in the Park Village area of the city after after items valued at around £230 were stolen from stores in Wolverhampton.

The 30-year-old, of no fixed address, was charged with four counts of theft and was due to appear at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court on Monday. No details of his appearance are available yet.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "A suspected shop thief has been detained and is heading to court today after items valued at around £230 were stolen from stores in Wolverhampton.

"The 30-year-old man was arrested in the Park Village area on Saturday after alcohol and food were taken from four different shops in the city between November 4 and December 9.

"Ryan Mattox, of no fixed address, has been charged with four thefts and is due to appear at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court today.

"This winter, we’re continuing to take action to create places where businesses thrive, and communities feel secure."
