Man, 21, arrested after Wolverhampton knifepoint robbery
A man has been arrested after another man was threatened with a knife while sitting in his car.
West Midlands Police has arrested a man on suspicion of robbery and nine motor vehicle thefts.
The victim of the robbery, who was in his car on Ladymoor Road in Bilston at around 8pm on May 4, was approached and threatened with a knife, before being pulled from the car, and the vehicle was stolen.
Officers from the Dudley Vehicle Crime Team launched an investigation and have now arrested a man.
The 21-year-old was arrested on Friday (September 5) on suspicion of robbery and nine counts of theft of motor vehicles from the Amblecote, Coseley, Tipton, Wolverhampton, West Bromwich, Sedgley and Bilston areas between March 9 and June 5.
He remains in custody while police enquiries continue.
Sergeant Rich Galbraith, of the Dudley Vehicle Crime Team, said: "We’ve carried out a thorough and lengthy investigation into these crimes and I’m pleased we’ve now been able to make an arrest.
“We know that vehicle crime is a concern for our communities, not just in Dudley but across the wider West Midlands area, and this is why we will continue to robustly investigate, recover stolen property, and make arrests.
“Our investigation into these incidents isn’t over, so I would ask anyone with any information to come forward and report it to us.
“Even the smallest bit of information could help my team’s investigation and help us catch those responsible."
The investigation into the incident is still ongoing, with anyone with information asked to contact West Midlands Police via 101, quoting 20/230083/25.
