Mother and aunt of Cody Fisher murderer 'tried to help him avoid manhunt and escape to Jamaica'
The mother of Cody Fisher's murderer tried to help him flee the country to Jamaica after the killing, a court has heard.
Kami Carpenter, 23, was found guilty of murdering Cody Fisher in Digbeth, Birmingham on Boxing Day 2022.

Between knifing the promising footballer to death on the dancefloor of Crane nightclub and being arrested three days later, the killer travelled to London.

His mother Jahzeen Carpenter, 39 and from Dudley, allegedly tried to mastermind his getaway by booking a flight from Heathrow and organising him a safe house in Spanish Town, Jamaica.
She is on trial at Wolverhampton Crown Court charged with assisting an offender. If found guilty she could follow her son into the prison system.

Ms Carpenter's sister Nadine Taylor, 45, of Himley Court, Lower Gornal, Dudley, was charged with the same offence but is too ill to stand trial.
