Officers from West Midlands Police arrested a 16-year-old girl and 42-year-old man in Solihull town centre, on suspicion of theft, following help from partners at Solhull Business Improvement District.

Both have been released under investigation as police enquiries continue.

The officers also recovered thousands of pounds worth of stolen items from their vehicle, including toys, toiletries and other items.

The arrests are another landmark in the partnership, which include Touchwood Shopping Centre and Solihull District council.

A spokesman for Solihull St Alphege Neighbourhood Policing Team tweeted: "Two People arrested today in Solihull Town Centre as a result of working with our @SolihullBID partners.

"£1000s worth of stolen items recovered from their vehicle.
