Murder probe after woman found injured at Willenhall home dies

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murdering a woman found unconscious at a house.

A murder investigation has been launched after the woman was found injured at a home in Burleigh Close, Willenhall, last night. She later died.

The woman, aged 46, was found at the home, in Burleigh Close, Willenhall, just after 9pm yesterday.

She was taken to hospital but died this morning, say West Midlands Police.

A 39-year-old man, believed to be known to the victim, has been arrested on suspicion of murder.

He remains in police custody today.

West Midlands Police officers are asking for anyone with information to contact officers.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: "Two ambulances attended and found a woman in a serious condition.

"She was given emergency treatment on scene before being taken on blue lights to hospital where she sadly died this morning."

Residents in the street have spoken of their shock, after emergency services descended on the scene.

One Burleigh Close resident said: "There were two police cars and two ambulances last night. I looked out of the window and saw the lights.

"I thought 'oh my goodness', but it was best just to let them get on with it."

Another, who wished to remain anonymous, added: "We didn't see anything, just the police and the ambulance arrive."
