Officers and staff from all across the force have been collecting donations to hand out to different charities and organisations, to give to vulnerable people and families who live in the West Midlands.

In Solihull, officers donated selection boxes to the Renewal Church Helping Hands Food Bank.

Officers in Walsall also got in the Christmas spirit by buying gifts for youngsters who may otherwise go without.

The team brought gifts from a wish list made up of items such as toiletries, headphones, football shirts, and make-up.

The presents were all donated to the YMCA (Heart of England) as part of its Adopt a Wish campaign.

In Birmingham, toys were donated by the team and also by a very generous member of the public.

Staff and officers linked in with local support services to make sure the toys went to those most in need, including to Acorns Children’s Hospice and Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

Presents were also donated to the children’s trust who cover Birmingham, with youngsters receiving gifts such as remote-controlled monster trucks to open on Christmas Day.

Underwear and razors were also collected and donated to homeless men receiving support from Sifa Fireside, a homeless support charity. The items were donated from the force's central property stores having been recovered by officers.

And in Coventry, neighbourhood officers and staff donated presents to the Hope Charity as well as bags full of donated food and presents being collected by the teams to support Mission Giving Tree and Coventry food bank.
