A range of rare and unique beer bottles celebrating Black Country beer heritage will be up for auction.

There’s set to be some rare collectibles and unusual bottles on offer at a charity auction at a city beer festival.

The “100 Bottles of Beer” auction will take place during the first day of the Wolverhampton CAMRA Summer Festival of Beer & Cider at the Wolverhampton Arts Centre.

The auction will take place at 5pm on Thursday, July 25, with all funds raised being donated to Parkinson’s UK, and will feature a range of rare and unusual bottles.

These include 48 bottles donated by Mark Rickard, a former CAMRA member, 31 bottles donated by the family of John Hughes, of Sarah Hughes Brewery, and 20 bottles donated by former Black Country Ales Brewery member Robin Shields.

A spokeswoman for Wolverhampton CAMRA said: “Alongside the beer and cider, on Thursday night, we can announce we have a bottle auction of rare old bottles, in aid of Parkinson's UK.

“We'll share the full list during the next couple of days, but bottles up for auction include a Courage Royal Wedding Ale from 1973, a Sarah Hughes Dark Ruby Mild 50th Mash, which is a Jarratt's Jubilee bottle, 1977 Jubilee ales from Banks's and Shipstones, an M&B Wolverhampton 1000 Year Celebration ale and many many more.”
