Canal death man is named

A man found dead at the bottom of steps beside a canal in Wolverhampton was today named by friends as barman Nick Lloyd.

The body of Mr Lloyd, aged around 25, was found yesterday morning at the steps off Bridgnorth Road in Compton.

Mr Lloyd, who is understood to have lived in Perton, has held a number of bar jobs including working at the Chestnut Tree, in Finchfield, and former city centre pub O'Neills.

The death is not being treated as suspicious.
