Former industrial site in Kidderminster sold for £4 million after historic firm goes into administration
A former industrial site in Kidderminster has been sold for £4 million after long-running family business Adams Carpets fell into administration.
Watling Real Estate and Edwards Property Consultants have sold the 154,743 sq ft former Adams Carpets site on behalf of joint administrators Joph Young and Conrad Beighton of Leonard Curtis.
Oldbury-based Bhandal Properties Ltd has acquired the freehold industrial site from the administrators as an investment to go with their expanding portfolio.

Adam Carpets fell into administration in March 2025 due to adverse trading conditions within the retail sector, rising gas and electricity prices and the increases in National Insurance contributions.
The business was an established family-run company involved in the manufacture, storage and distribution of high-quality carpet and had operated from the site since the 1920s.
The property occupies a 6.6-acre site in Kidderminster and has dual access off the A456 Birmingham Road and Hurcott Road.
Toby O’Sullivan, director in the Birmingham office of Watling Real Estate, said: “Industrial sites of this size, in this location, rarely come to market. We maintain an extensive list of active buyers for these types of properties and as a result, we were able to generate significant interest, resulting in competitive bidding for the site.”
Dan Crossley, of Edwards, added: “While it is always disappointing to see long standing businesses fall into administration, this sale provides a positive outcome for Kidderminster. Bhandal Properties will breathe new life into the property and see that it is re-occupied, potentially by more than one business.”
Philip Parkinson, of HCR Legal LLP in Worcester, acted for the joint administrators and Ifzal Akhtar, of Davisons Law in Birmingham, acted on behalf of Bhandal Properties Ltd.
