Walsall and Bloxwich MP Valerie Vaz condemns Pleck racial attack on Sikh boy
Walsall and Bloxwich MP Valerie Vaz has condemned the racially aggravated attack on a 14-year-old boy in Pleck.
Six males wearing black clothing attacked the boy in Pleck Park at 5pm on Friday.
The MP said: “I was shocked and saddened to be informed by the Chief Supt Phil Dolby of Walsall Police about an appalling racially and religiously aggravated attack against a young person in our Sikh community that took place in Pleck Park.

"The community should be reassured that the Police have a specialist team investigating and if anyone has any information about the incident please contact the West Midlands Police quoting Log 4696 6 March."
Mrs Vaz confirmed officers had visited local Gurdwaras in Walsall to allay fears Sikhs are being targeted.
She said: "The Police have been in close contact with our Gurdwaras and other members of our Sikh community today to update and reassure the Community and will continue to do so.
"I have spoken to representatives of the Gurdwaras today and my thoughts are with the young person, his family and friends”.
