15 amazing photos at Pride event which lit up Walsall Arboretum for a day of fun and celebration
The annual celebration of Walsall Pride brought together people from all walks of life yesterday for a day of unity and fun.
Held at Walsall Arboretum Extension at Broadway North, the event was a feast of music, entertainment, partying and a celebration of the diverse LGBT community in the area.
Thousands of people came to the event from Walsall and beyond - most dressed in bright colours and pets were welcome - one person even bringing his pet snake with him.
Chart toppers Liberty X featured on the main stage, with the cabaret area featuring Tomara Thomas as the main act but there was constant entertainment throughout the event, which ran all day.
A 'Picnic in the Park' event ran alongside the main event at the Walsall Arboretum bandstand with Madonna and Chappell Roan tribute acts playing alongside flamboyant performers and singers from the area.
There was also a dance arena, fair rides and inflatables to keep the kids entertained, market stalls, and food and drink vendors.
The event started in 2012 when just over 300 people attended and it has now become a firm fixture in the Walsall entertainment calendar.
