Candidates announced for by-election in Pelsall
Candidates have now been announced for the by-election to elect a new representative for the Pelsall Ward of Walsall Council next month.
The election will be held on Thursday September 11 and has been called after Garry Perry, the former leader of Walsall Council resigned from public office last month.

The candidates to fill his seat are: Dan Barker, Liberal Democrat; Joe Belcher, Green Party; Lee Michael James Chapman, The Conservative Party ; Graham Eardley, Reform UK ; Hannah Jones, Labour
A Walsall Council spokesperson said: "Poll cards have started to be sent out this week and everyone registered and eligible to vote in the by-election will receive a poll card through the post.
"This by-election concerns registered electors in the Pelsall Ward of Walsall only. Residents living in other areas of the borough are not eligible to vote.
"When voting in person, please remember to take your voter ID with you to the polling station. This applies to everyone who votes in person or by proxy. Suitable photographic ID accepted at the polling station includes a UK passport or driving licence. A full list of acceptable identification can be found at https://www.electoralcommission.org.uk/voting-and-elections/voter-id"
They continued to say for anyone who is on the electoral register, the deadline to register and be eligible to vote in this by-election is Tuesday August 2025.
