We visited a Tettenhall pub which has gone through many changes, but remained a warm and welcoming place that feels like home to its manager and staff
It's a pub which has changed looks, owners and even its purpose over the years, but which has always remained popular with its regulars and which feels like a second home to everyone who works there.
Sometimes, the look and feel and purpose of a pub can change depending on what the owners want or what people in the local area have been wanting.
The Two Greens in Tettenhall is one of those pubs which has changed its looks and purposes over the years, having gone from being a wedding venue to a nightclub called Rockies to somewhere very dependant on passing trade for food.
Known locally as The Rock, the pub is based at the top of a steep hill, although gentler access is available from the Tettenhall High street end of the road, and the pub is first mentioned in 1818 as the Old Rose and Crown.

Later, the gardens around it were developed and were popular as they gave a great view over Wolverhampton, while in 1997, a separate building was erected to the side of the pub for use as a children’s Wacky Warehouse.
Now owned and operated by Greene King, the pub officially reopened its doors to the public following a six-figure investment, with key features of the investment including a full renovation of the pub’s interior space, with new lighting, flooring and furniture.
The bar was also upgraded, while the exterior area was transformed with new garden furniture and cosy lighting, and the toilets also underwent a complete refurbishment to provide a more modern look and feel for guests.
