Police investigate spate of motorbike thefts in Lichfield involving 'group of youths' - including outside McDonald's
Police are investigating a spate of motorbike thefts in Lichfield including outside a McDonald's restaurant.
Staffordshire Police received reports of a robbery at the fast-food eatery on Milestone Way in Burntwood on June 20.
A "group of youths" took a moped at the back of the McDonald's and drove off, the force said.
In another incident on June 21, officers went to St John Street, Lichfield, following a report that a group of youths were trying to take a moped from a delivery driver.
The suspects were stopped when a member of the public came to the victims' aid.
They were unable to leave on their moped, which police say was later found to be stolen.

The two suspects were found and arrested on suspicion of vehicle theft.
Staffordshire Police stated that it is working with West Midlands Police to tackle "cross-border criminality".
Inspector Melissa Byrne, from the Lichfield local policing team, said: “We’re working hard to protect the hard-earned belongings of our communities and to act against those responsible for thefts, burglary and robbery in Staffordshire.
“I’d urge anyone who notices anything suspicious to report to us as soon as possible.
"We’re patrolling hotspot locations, working with our 24/7 roads policing unit and using specialists across the force to go after those involved.”
