Walsall's Littleton Centre McDonald's has been included in a list of the worst-rated McDonald's restaurants in the UK in a study held by the QR website, QR Code Generator.

The study looked at the Google reviews of more than 1,400 McDonald's to review the lowest rated McDonald's restaurants according to customers.

Of all the reviews left by customers who visited the Littleton Centre McDonald's a whoppping 32 per cent rated it with just one-star - the third-highest proportion in the UK. Diners mainly complained about unnecessary parking restrictions, general cleanliness and slow service.

The Littleton Centre restaurant came fourth in the overall ranking of the lowest rated McDonald's, being beaten only by McDonald's restarurants at Bristol Fishponds which got 33.46% one star reviews, Sydenham where 34.05% of the reviews were just one star and, finally, the worst overall at Chingford Fountain which got 36.49% one star reviews.

So, In response to the scathing ratings, we visited our West Midlands badly rated McDonald's in Walsall's Littleton Centre to see if the customer's reviews were justified. Here's how we got on.

The interior of the badly rated McDonald's restaruarnt in the Littleton Centre

One particularly negative review said that they had a particularly awful experience regarding the restaurant's cleanliness.

The review noted that there was trash on the tables and chairs and an overall sense of dirtiness, however, when we went at around 12pm, there was hardly any rubbish to be seen.

Outside of the regular refuse that is left around fast food restaurants, the interior was actually quite clean.

The line was managed with the order kiosks and despite ordering a burger, fries, drink, coffee, and chicken nuggets, the food was coming out at McDonald's regular lightning-speed rate.

It might have been a different experience if we had gone at night, however, at lunchtime, it was reasonably well managed.

The food at the McDonald's restaurant in Walsall

Another review regarded the state of the food, noting that the BBQ Burger and the Bic Mac they had ordered were both 'cold'.

However, after receiving my food and heading to my car, it was moderately lukewarm, which is arguably better than it being cold.

The food was edible, but not great or anything amazing.

As with many fast food restaurants, the food at McDonald's is cooked to a general standard, so if you have had one Big Mac - you have had them all.

It was average food at best, generally what you come to expect from fast food.

Arguably the worst part of the visit was the parking.

Many users pointed out the shockingly small amount of time for free parking next to the McDonald's, with the car park allowing 20 minutes of usage before having to pay £1.00 for one hour.

There was barely enough time to choose your food, wait for it to arrive and then eat before having to rush out of the parking zone to avoid a £100.

There were enough parking spots for what I would describe as a slow lunchtime rush, however, I could imagine that the spots are quickly filled later in the afternoon.

Our verdict overall

I think when all was said, done and eaten, my visit to McDonald's was exceptionally average, the food was out quickly, it tasted okay and it was clean.

A very average experience - maybe not the worst I've ever been to though, to be fair.
