'Dirty tables, wrong orders and parking fines' - reviewers share why Walsall McDonald's ranked among worst in country

A Walsall McDonald's described by reviewers as having slow service, cold food, poor service and misleading parking details has been ranked among the worst in the country.

The new study by QR Code Generator has ranked the Littleton Centre McDonald’s as fourth on its list of the lowest-rated McDonald’s restaurants in the UK, based on the franchise locations with the biggest percentage of one-star ratings on Google Reviews.

The research looked at the percentage of one-star Google reviews for all McDonald’s in the UK, totalling more than 1,400 restaurants, to reveal which were the lowest-rated.   

The Littleton Centre McDonald’s was found to have received 32 per cent of one-star reviews from Google Review, the third-highest proportion in the UK, and the outlet has a Google rating of just 3.1.

Reviewers of the restaurant giving it one-star reviews were particularly scathing about a parking situation where there was a lack of signage about parking restrictions.

One review said: "Unfortunately, cannot give 0 stars, so where do I start. 20 minutes free 'parking', but you are left waiting in the drive through for 25 minutes, then having to chase order, only to wait a further 10 minutes to then receive a parking fine of £60. 

"It's not parking if you are kept waiting by inept staff at this restaurant, so beware, in fact avoid. 

"Called the branch and ended up speaking to a young lady, stating there are parking signs and you can put your reg in to extend parking, which again, you are not parking if you are in a drive through. 

"Reading from a script, not interested in helping their customers and actually came across as quite rude.  Will not be using again, this particular franchise(e) is not an advocate for the brand at all and McDonalds themselves should be looking into renegotiating the parking limit if they cannot get customers through a drive through in under 20 minutes. Definitely not fast food here."

There were also some criticism of the attitude of staff, with one reviewer recanting their experience with what they said they felt was rude service.

The review said: "Went through drive through, the chap started off with 'what do you want' no 'welcome to McDonald's or hello can I take your order'.

"After giving my order, come to next window, didn't say the amount, no please and thank you. So rude. I drove to next window and advised the manager about the service.

"Just when you think it can't get any worse, she was miserable, grumpy, and very rude as well. Definitely not rated for service at all."

Another complaint was around the dirtiness of the restaurant, with one review describing the scene when he arrived.

The review said: "Unlike most McDonald's around this area, this store was appalling.

"Dirty, trash on tables and floors, no condiments, no access to toilets, no receipt from order point, wrong drink served with meal and both Smokehouse BBQ Burger and Big Mac were cold. 

"An awful experience and recommend anyone reading this goes elsewhere."

The quality of the food was also brought up, with one review saying: "Worst Maccies I've ever been to. 

"Every time we have ordered from Wisemore Maccies items are missing and we have to faff requesting refunds. The food always arrives cold too. Rubbish."
