Eight road closures in Sandwell and Walsall over the next fortnight as drivers warned to expect delays
Drivers in and around Walsall and Sandwell are expecting travel delays as eight National Highways road closures are set to be in place this month.
Road delays are anticipated as Sandwell and Walsall expect around eight new road closures for the region over the coming weeks.
The road closures, some of which are already in effect, are being put into force by National Highways for various reasons, including maintenance works and network events.
In Sandwell, some works are expected to cause delays of between 10 minutes to half an hour, with a number of closures currently already in place.
However, the situation isn't as bad in Walsall, as slight delays of under 10 minutes are expected.

Closures for Sandwell
A4123, from 8pm June 15 to 6am June 23, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 1 to junction 2, carriageway closure for maintenance works, diversion via National Highways and Local authority network.
A4123, from 9pm April 7 to 6am August 27, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M5 both directions, junction 1 to junction 3, carriageway, entry and exit slip road closures for maintenance works, diversion via National Highways and local authority networks.
A further four closures will begin over the next two weeks:
M5, from 9am June 17 to 4pm June 18, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 1 to junction 2, Hard shoulder closure for maintenance works.
M5, from 8pm June 18 to 6am June 19, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 both directions, junction 1 to M6, Lane closure for maintenance works.
M6, from 9pm June 25 to 6am June 26, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 both directions, junction 7 to junction 8, Lane closure for maintenance works.
M6, from 9pm June 30 to 6am July 2, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 northbound, junction 9 entry slip road, entry slip closure for maintenance works, diversion via National Highways and local authority networks.
Closures for Walsall
A5, from 7am May 19 to 5pm June 22, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A5 both directions Lime Lane to Chester Road North, diversion for off-network event.
One more closure will begin over the next two weeks:
M6, from 9pm June 30 to 6am July 2, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 northbound, junction 9 entry slip road, entry slip closure for maintenance works, diversion via National Highways and local authority networks.
