Clean-up crews have been called out more than 30 times so far this year to clear away rubbish left behind by travellers across the region.

Councils in Walsall, Sandwell and Wolverhampton have been left to pay thousands of pounds it was revealed in a week which has seen three new camps set up.

Travellers have moved on and left messy sites in 14 locations in Walsall since January.

In Sandwell, clean-up staff have been called out 12 times since January 1 and in Wolverhampton, six times.

Most recently, staff from Walsall Council were called out to tidy up mess left by travellers in Reaymer Close and Upper Green Lane in Bloxwich on June 10.
