These are the new Chinese cars set to make waves in the market

The UK has been inundated with new Chinese manufacturers, but which cars should you be looking out for?
The UK has experienced a wave of new Chinese car manufacturers over the last few years. Offering competitively priced but often high-tech options, these brands have quickly soared in popularity.
But with so many new cars on the market, it can be tricky to understand what’s what. We’ve got all the details on the latest Chinese-made cars shaking things up.
Aion UT

The UT is the second car launched by Aion in the UK and it arrives with a range of up to 268 miles – one of the longest in the class.
BYD Atto 8

A dedicated seven-seater, the Atto 8 will come with a large 115kWh battery which promises an impressive range of up to 405 miles. A dual-motor car will be there for drivers after a little extra performance, too.
BYD Shark

It’ll handle a 790kg payload, too, and brings a towing limit of up to 2,500kg.
Foton Tunland

Inside, there’s a large central screen and a digital driver’s display. We expect the Tunland to be competitive in terms of capacity, too.
Freelander 8

While the Freelander 8 may still be a little way off, it has already launched in the Middle East as a chunky, go-anywhere SUV. We’re sure that it’ll be one to watch when it gets here.
iCaur V27

Things kick off with the new V27, a five-seater SUV with an off-road design. While iCaur has yet to confirm powertrain details, we’re expecting it to follow suit with other Chery cars with a hybrid system.
Jaecoo 8

It’s got a far more upmarket approach than the 7, but still comes in at £45,000, undercutting the vast majority of the competition.
Leapmotor B03X

Like other Leapmotor cars, there’s plenty of tech on board, including a 14.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
Lepas L6

A maximum charge speed of 120kW means that the L6 can go from 10 to 80 per cent in around 25 minutes, too.
Xpeng L03
Inside, there’s a typically tech-focused approach with a large central screen and a digital driver’s readout.
