Foton set to arrive as new commercial vehicle brand

Another new Chinese brand is set to arrive in the UK next year – Foton.

Sitting alongside a wide number of new China-based carmakers, Foton is one of the country’s leading commercial vehicle brands and will launch in the UK with its Tunland pick-up early next year.

The Tunland is a full-size pick-up with a ‘comfort-focused interior’, according to the brand, while a 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine with mild-hybrid assistance aims to bring reliable performance.

All cars will get a large central touchscreen and digital instrument display, while standard-fit automatic climate control, wireless smartphone charging and soft-touch materials have already been confirmed as included features.

However, Foton has yet to confirm performance details for the Tunland, as well as capacities for towing or load. The brand has said that the truck will offer a ‘flexible solution for both leisure and business use’.
