Flamboyant supercars are Lamborghini’s speciality, but is the Temerario one that stands out from the rest? Jack Evans finds out.

What is it?

The Temerario is Lamborghini’s next instalment and one which takes over from the hugely successful Huracan as the entry point to the range. We’ve been trying it out.

In classic Lamborghini style, though, it arrives with a bold design and plenty of ‘look at me’ touches which ensure it’ll turn heads wherever it goes.

What’s under the bonnet?

This setup works to fully hybridise the Lamborghini line-up, with both Revuelto and Urus SE models also utilising some form of electrification to help boost performance and lower emissions.

What’s it like to drive?

And it really does take off when you combine petrol and electric power. The Temerario is a very, very fast car but with four-wheel-drive, it still feels accessible. What really shines through is just how light and agile this car is to drive, with accurate steering helping you to make the most of every corner. Even during our sodden test drive, traction was good, too.

How does it look?

Of course, being a Lamborghini means that there’s a near-endless number of colour and trim options to choose from, so you can make it look as wild or as understated as you’d like.

What’s it like inside?

We did notice that the driver’s seating position was slightly offset, with your feet leaning slightly away from you.

Of course, much of the Temerario’s price goes towards this car’s extensive mechanical achievements, and the level of prestige that comes with that famous badge, too.

Verdict

It could be easy to look at the Temerario on paper and feel that the loss of the Huracan’s V10 engine means that this car could never succeed. We’ll admit that some of the spirit has been lost, but you cannot argue with how effectively and exquisitely this car gets down the road.

Sure, it may not sound quite as good as the car which came before it, but it is simply astonishing how this car works. It’s a Lamborghini for the modern age – and then some.
