Taxi firm expanding its fleet

Go Carz has added a brand new 16-seater vehicle to its Wolverhampton-based fleet and has also increased the number of eight-seaters, as the recent stability in the economy has led to a boom in people traveling abroad.

According to figures released by the Office of National Statistics, there has been a five per cent rise in overseas travel over the past year, and managers at Go Carz said more people were contacting them for airport transfers.

Steve Shaw, minibus manager at the firm, said people were also becoming more organised regarding Christmas parties, with increasing numbers of businesses booking transport in advance.

He said: "There has been a marked increase in demand for airport transfers, both from the general public and business passengers, so we are pleased to be able to expand our service.

"This year we have noticed more people are thinking about their Christmas arrangements already and contacting us to enquire about prices, so we are expecting a very busy December.

"We have a fleet of eight and 16-seater vehicles are also perfect for group outings, particularly for business away days and such like, so we would advise anyone interested to get in touch.

"We are very proud of our new vehicles which will give customers an extremely comfortable journey."

The taxi firm has 700 licensed vehicles across its four offices in Wolverhampton, Walsall, Shrewsbury and Telford, and the new additions to its fleet will help meet the demand of holiday goers and business clients.

Go Carz, formerly Central Taxis, is seeing huge demand for its service and is currently recruiting hundreds of new drivers.
