A burst pipe during the Easter Bank Holiday weekend in April left Talbots Law’s Stourbridge office on Hagley Road in a state of total disrepair, leaving the building in need of complete renovation and forcing clients and staff to rely on the company’s 18 other branches.

After extensive remedial works to resecure and redecorate the building, the firm has confirmed it has now been able to reopen its ground floor for client meetings and is operating a skeleton staff from 9am to 2pm on weekdays to support walk-in clients and enable existing clients to drop off documents or pop in to ask questions.

Dave Hodgetts, CEO of Talbots Law - the largest employee-owned law firm in the country, with 630 staff based across 19 offices, said: “In the face of such adversity, we can only say a huge thank you to our clients and our team for the way they have adapted and rallied round us, to ensure there has been no drop-off in service.

While the circumstances that prompted the work have been incredibly challenging, we’re delighted with our modernised signage and new look meeting spaces on the ground floor and would like to thank Igloo Commercial Services and Signline for the job they’ve done in getting everything back to a high spec.”

Renovation work on the first and second floor will continue in order for Talbots’ full complement of Stourbridge-based staff to move back into the building full-time and the firm have advised that in the meantime, clients can continue to use any of its other 18 offices, with the closest being in Halesowen, Brierley Hill and Kidderminster.

The company currently expects to be able to move back into Stourbridge, in full, by the end of October.
