Motorway cameras show long queues of traffic between Birmingham and Walsall, caused by a broken down lorry.
Congestion has been reported in the area since 5pm, as commuters returned to work after the weekend.

The cause of the breakdown is yet to be revealed, and traffic remains extremely slow moving between junctions six and seven.
Drivers are advised to plan ahead and take alternative routes while work is done to clear the lorry from the motorway.

Warwickshire Police have been approached for comment.
