From rock bottom to world record: ADHD mentor brings life-changing talk to Wolverhampton

Guinness World Record holder and neurodiversity mentor Andy Stone will visit Wolverhampton on Monday, April 13 to share insights on ADHD and neurodiversity.

The event, held at Tettenhall College, Wood Road, Tettenhall, will feature Andy’s personal story and practical advice for those with ADHD, their families, and educators.

Andy, who has ADHD and autism, spent decades facing mental health challenges, school expulsions, and substance addiction. After overcoming addiction and depression, he has been sober for 10 years. In June 2022, he completed 70 half-iron triathlons in 75 days, earning a Guinness World Record.

His talk, The Science of ADHD and the Six Pillars of Health, will explain the neuroscience of ADHD, the role of dopamine, the connection between ADHD and addiction, and the lifestyle strategies that helped him. Andy aims to help attendees understand how neurodiversity can be a strength.

“When I finally got that understanding, everything changed. That’s what I want to give people in that room,” Andy said.

Outside of mentoring and public speaking, Andy works as a professional shark diver. A documentary about his journey, Substance Abuse to Superhuman, has received over 24 film festival awards.

The event is open to anyone aged 12 and over. A Q&A session will follow the talk. The event starts at 7pm. Tickets are £10 and can be booked at trybooking.com/uk/GDIF.
