Wolverhampton photographer celebrates national award after starting business during family health ordeal
Georgia's work focuses on wedding photography, combining candid images with more formal portraits
A Wolverhampton photographer has been recognised at a national business awards after building her wedding photography business while caring for her young family.

Georgia Anne, who runs Georgia Anne Photography, was named Photography & Videography Studio of the Year at the Business Awards UK.
Georgia started the business after leaving her job while on maternity leave following the birth of her son, who was diagnosed with craniosynostosis.
With the family facing uncertainty over his condition and possible surgery, Georgia and her husband decided she would leave employment so she could care for their son full-time.
Photography subsequently offered Georgia a way to work while remaining available for her family.

Starting without an established studio, client base or wedding industry connections, she built the business from her home city of Wolverhampton and now photographs weddings across the UK.
She has also since had a second child and balances running the business with raising her two young children.
Georgia said the award was particularly meaningful because of how the business began.
“I didn't begin with a huge investment, industry connections or some big plan to build an award-winning photography business. I was a mum who needed to find a way of working that meant I could still be there for my son during a really uncertain time in our lives.”
She added: “Weddings gave me that opportunity. They allowed me to build something of my own while being the mum I needed and wanted to be.”

Georgia's work focuses on wedding photography, combining candid images with more formal portraits.
She has photographed weddings at venues across the Midlands and elsewhere in the UK, while continuing to run the business from Wolverhampton.
She said: “I'm really proud that something which started because my family needed me at home has turned into a career that I genuinely love.
“I get to document some of the biggest moments in people's lives, travel to incredible places and still have a business that works around my family.
“To now be able to call Georgia Anne Photography an award-winning Wolverhampton business is something I'm very proud of.”
