As a primary school that focuses on supporting pupils' Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Albright Plus values outdoor learning and the positive impact it has on wellbeing. The school is currently working towards achieving its third Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Gardening Award and is also working towards a Bronze LEAF Education Award, recognizing its commitment to environmental education and sustainability.

During weekly gardening sessions, pupils have worked together to design and create their own wheelbarrow display. Named "Eco Petal Plus Barrow" by the children, the project has encouraged creativity, teamwork and an appreciation for the natural world.

Mrs Gadd said: "I am incredibly proud of the children's enthusiasm and interest in gardening at school. It has been wonderful to see how engaged they are and how much they enjoy learning about nature and the environment. Pupils eagerly tell me anything garden-related they have seen or discovered, whether at home or at school, and it is fantastic to see their confidence and knowledge growing alongside our garden." I am super pleased with how the Wheel barrow design has come to life’

The project has provided valuable opportunities for pupils to develop new skills, work collaboratively and strengthen their connection with the outdoors. Staff and pupils alike are delighted with the finished wheelbarrow and look forward to welcoming plenty of wildlife visitors to the Eco Petal Plus Barrow in the months ahead.
