Walsall State of Mind, featuring vocalist Kiani and filmed by Truwrld, reimagines the spirit of Jay-Z's Empire State of Mind through a distinctly Black Country lens.

The project aims to challenge some of the stereotypes associated with the area while promoting local ambition, creativity and pride among young people.

The accompanying video showcases landmarks, heritage sites and everyday community life across Walsall.

Nayra J, who works independently outside the conventional music industry, hopes the project will inspire local pride and shine a positive light on the creative talent coming out of the town.
