The event will take place at Courtside Pickleball in Stourbridge Industrial Estate from 12pm to 4pm on Saturday, September 26.

The group forms part of a national peer support network and meets annually. This year’s gathering will give practicing and retired NHS workers the chance to learn and play pickleball, alongside activities focused on physical and mental wellbeing.

The event is being delivered by Power Pickleball and Courtside Pickleball, with organisers highlighting the sport’s low-impact nature and its potential benefits for coordination, balance and motor control.

Dr James Reynolds, regional contact for the Peer Support Network, said pickleball was a fun way to exercise and socialise.

James Mackay, lead coach at Power Pickleball, said the sport was "accessible and sociable" and could have a role in supporting people living with Parkinson’s.

Josh Yeng, co-founder of Courtside Pickleball, said the venue hoped to become a local hub for Parkinson’s awareness and support in the West Midlands.

Members of the local Parkinson’s community are also being encouraged to try pickleball.

The event will be held at Courtside Pickleball, Block F, Bay 5 & 6, Stourbridge Industrial Estate, Stourbridge, DY8 1JN, on Saturday, September 26.
