Himley Cricket Club secures sponsorship to support growing teams
The sponsorship will help the long-established club improve its facilities and build on growth in its junior, women’s and senior teams
Himley Cricket Club has received sponsorship from a housebuilder as it looks to expand opportunities for players of all ages.

David Wilson Homes, which is building homes at The Pearls development in Stourport-on-Severn, is supporting the club as it continues to grow its junior, women’s and senior sections.
Established in 1883, Himley Cricket Club has five senior teams playing Saturday league cricket, with its first team competing in Division One of the Birmingham and District Premier Cricket League.
The club has also seen growth in its women’s and girls’ section, with teams playing in softball and hardball county leagues.
Gordon Lewis, president of Himley Cricket Club, said the sponsorship would help improve facilities and create more opportunities for people in the local community to play cricket.

He said: “We are incredibly grateful to David Wilson Homes for their sponsorship and support of Himley Cricket Club. This partnership will help us continue to improve our facilities and create more opportunities for people of all ages to enjoy cricket.
“We have seen significant growth across our junior, women's and senior sections in recent years, and this investment will help us welcome even more adults and children from the local community to the club.”
Helen Lewis, managing director at David Wilson Homes Mercia, said the company was pleased to support the club and its ambitions.
She said: “We hope to watch the club continue to flourish and bring in more people to enjoy not only a wonderful sport, but also the opportunity to grow and flourish in a friendly and comfortable environment.”
