Local tattoo business expands studio with support from Walsall Business Support
A Walsall tattoo studio is set to grow its team and expand its premises after receiving a £2,000 grant from Walsall Business Support.
Ink Eightyeight, which opened in March 2023, was founded after owner Daniel Weller heard about a barber shop up for let and saw the potential for a new tattoo studio.
The studio covers all areas of tattooing, from traditional to realism, and prides itself on offering a full range of styles to clients.
The grant from Walsall Business Support will be used to purchase new furniture, workstations and supplies for two new artists joining the team, as well as contributing towards the ongoing building expansion into a neighbouring shop that recently became available.
Daniel had previously received a £1,500 grant from Walsall Business Support when he first set up the business, in order to purchase furniture and precision equipment.

“I’d heard about WBS from a friend and thought it would be the perfect time to apply as we were just beginning to expand the studio,” said Daniel.
“I’m grateful for their support as it’ll help give us more space and enable us to create the best team. The atmosphere at Ink Eightyeight is amazing and I’d really like to keep that vibe going so that every client feels comfortable and happy with the services we provide.”
Led by leading business figures to distribute funds collected from the legacy of Walsall Chamber of Commerce, Walsall Business Support funds projects to enhance the borough’s economy.
WBS board member, John Punch, said: “We are pleased to support Ink Eightyeight as they expand their team and premises. Their commitment to quality and creating a welcoming environment is a great example of the vibrant independent businesses we have in Walsall.”
