The viral West Midlands chippy making waves on TikTok you should head down to this summer 2026
Fancy a spot of fish and chips, with a side of entertainment?
There’s one chippy in Bewdley that continues to entertain people from all corners of TikTok and that’s none other than Merchants located on Load Street.
There are plenty of small pleasures in life and without a doubt, a warm bag of chips with a side of fish ranks up there - and the popularity of Merchants shows this quite well.

In a recent viral TikTok post that was published on July 15 called ‘POV ordering a giant chip butty with plenty of sauces’ that’s been viewed 649,200 times.
Staff member Destiny Harrold aka the 'chip shop diva' who stars in many of these videos made a mightily massive chip butty for ‘customer’ Mitch Key who is known as ‘MitchsPOV’.
In the video, Mitch hands Destiny a massive baguette to fill up for a special treat from the chippy.
Destiny adds butter, mushy peas, mini battered sausage bites, chicken curry, chips, cheese and gravy to the baguette.
When Destiny puts together the ‘giant chip butty’, Mitch happily takes the baguette and says “I think it looks amazing”.
The video attracted a lot of comments on TikTok.
One user wrote, “Diva still diva’ing”. While another user wrote, “My god Mitch u will eat anything”.
Another amusingly wrote: “They do bring your own bread?”.
The Bewdley chippy attracts customers from far and wide, with much of the fanfare surrounding the chippy due to its rather large TikTok presence where staff partake in making entertaining videos.
The TikTok page has 666,700 followers and 25,400,000 likes.
