Joe Taylor’s early opener was cancelled out by MK Dons’ Aaron Collins.

Huddersfield boss Martin Drury was disappointed his side did not take the win after a 1-1 draw away at MK Dons.

The Terriers took a ninth-minute lead when Joe Taylor received Ryan Ledson’s through-ball, burst forward and beat Craig MacGillivray despite the keeper’s touch.

Taylor would see a long-range strike hit the bar that was deemed not to have crossed the line, in one of several chances the Terriers failed to take in the rest of the first half.

MK Dons equalised after 54 minutes as Aaron Collins received Ben Wiles’ pass, cut inside and curled a fine strike home.

Both sides remain unbeaten in League One and Drury said he would take positives from his side’s display, but felt they should have left Milton Keynes as winners.

He said: “I thought first half, we were excellent. We gave them very little and we imposed ourselves upon them really well.

“Some of our football was very exciting. We attacked in different ways, looked good on the counter and looked really good building from deep.

“We’ve hit the bar twice, scored a goal, Joe Taylor has one that hits the bar, bounces down, and you’ll do well to convince me that’s not in from the pictures.

“But I was disappointed we weren’t three or four up, and then second half was different. We started to tire, couldn’t get to the ball quickly enough and started dropping.

“All in all, I want to win every game so I can’t stand here to say that I’m pleased we haven’t won. I’m not. I’m disappointed we haven’t won, but I liked a lot of what we did.

“It’s something we can take, move forward with and build on.”

Paul Warne was pleased with how his MK Dons side got themselves back into proceedings.

He said: “At half-time, I would have been over the moon with a point. By the end of the game, I thought we finished really well, were in the ascendancy for large parts of the second half.

“There was loads of things in that which I really liked and that’s what pleases me.

“First half, the woodwork and Craig (MacGillivray) kept them at bay as they tore us a new one really with their pace up top. We struggled with it, but we tweaked a little bit at half-time, asked the lads to play a bit more fearlessly and second half, we were excellent. I thought we were the only team that were going to win it.

“Generally speaking, we’re always going for three points, made subs to be more attacking, but unfortunately it’s just a point today. Generally, I think I’ll go home pleased with it.”
