Everton's Thierno Barry celebrates scoring

Only former Everton man Gareth Barry has scored more Premier League goals among his namesakes than current the Toffees striker.

Everton’s Thierno Barry may have already bettered his goalscoring tally from the whole of last season but he has a long way to go to becoming the Premier League’s top-scoring Barry.

The Frenchman’s double in the 3-1 win over Coventry saw him reach 10 for the season, already two more than in the entirety of his maiden campaign.

That has already moved him into second in the table of top goalscoring players sharing his name – as compiled by Opta – but it will be some time before he threatens top spot.

The 24-year-old has 14 career Premier League goals, a mere 39 behind former Toffees midfielder Gareth Barry who is well out in front.

Thierno’s two goals moved him past ex-Fulham striker Barry Hayles but he was already well ahead of another Everton favourite, Barry Horne, with the midfielder managing just three Premier League goals.
