Wolves duo poised for deadline day loan exits

The pair were among several players whose futures needed resolving.

Wolves have agreed deadline day deals for David Moller Wolfe and Sam Johnstone to leave the club on loan.

Full-back Moller Wolfe is poised to join Hamburg after the clubs struck an agreement which includes an option to buy.

Goalkeeper Johnstone, meanwhile, is on the verge of joining Celtic for the season ahead.

The 33-year-old was deemed surplus to requirements by boss Cesar Peixoto and had been seeking an exit during the final weeks of the transfer window.

Moller Wolfe, by contrast, was a player the club ideally wanted to keep on board. A new left-back is likely to be signed before the 11pm deadline as a replacement.

The futures of several players remain up in the air in the final hours of the window.

Moller Wolfe’s fellow left-back, Hugo Bueno, has been attracting interest from both Benfica and Atletico Madrid.

Wolves still hope to move out striker Hwang Hee-chan, who has been training away from the first-team group.

There are also doubts over defensive duo Ladislav Krejci and Santiago Bueno, both of whom had hoped to secure moves away from Molineux following the club’s relegation from the Premier League.
