Villa
Aston Villa goalkeeper Shay Given has said he wanted to stay at Championship side Middlesbrough. The 37-year-old Irishman joined the Teeside club on loan back in November but will now return to Villa Park after Saturday's match.
Paul Lambert has said Villa defender Alan Hutton will never play for the club again - because his wages are too high.
Walsall
Central defender Matt Preston, has linked up with Evo-Stik League Northern Premier Division outfit, Barwell, on a one-month loan deal. The Saddlers man is thought highly of at Banks's stadium.
