Yerson Mosquera sends Wolves fan message and gives next season indication
Loud boos rang out around Molineux after Wolves were held to a draw by ten man Sunderland.
Wolves defender Yerson Mosqeura has sent a message to Wolves fans amid growing unrest following loud boos following their clash with Sunderland.
The home side went behind early on at Molineux on Saturday - before they were given a helping hand when Dan Ballard was sent off for pulling Tolu Arokodare’s hair.
Wolves got back into the game in the second half as Santi Bueno headed home.
But despite having chances to go ahead, fans grew increasingly frustrated in the second half.
Substitutions were booed and after Wolves failed to find a winner - fans made their anger known to the players and manager Rob Edwards at full time.
Defender Yerson Mosquera, who returned to the side following suspension, acknowledged the fans are right to be frustrated, but urged them to keep believing between now and the end of the season.
He said: “I just want to say thank you for everything because they come with us everywhere.
“They support us and, of course, they are very frustrated, but we're going to try our best, be our best self for them, and the result is not with us, but they need to believe in us.
“These are the next steps, the next season we want to try to push up again, but for now thank you, everyone.”
Wolves struggled to break down the ten men of Sunderland - but did have half chances later in the game.
However they didn’t do enough to take all three points, and the Wolves defender added: “It's really difficult, because when they have 10 players, it's more difficult. They try to stay close. We need to create a little bit more chance outside.
“When we want to pass the ball inside and have two or three players close, it's really difficult. I know we have a lot of quality, but when you try to find them it’s really hard.”
