Three games will take place each day and are scheduled to start at 11am, 2.30pm and 5.45pm.

Boro boss Tommy Wright said: "I am delighted the chairman has backed my plans for the football club, putting this event on is a clear message that he wants to rebuild the football club to the level you want it to be.

"I would like to thank the managers and coaches of all the clubs that are participating.

"This will be a festival of football and something I really hope the whole town get behind."

Chairman Lee Thorn added: "I would like to congratulate Tommy on putting together a very prestigious and also very impressive line up.

"He managed to organise two consecutive tournaments during his tenure over at Corby Town and he has once again delivered a very impressive line-up for us this summer. We are delighted the teams accepted the invites and we look forward to hosting this tournament at Liberty Way."

Fans can watch all six games for a total of £40, with concessions paying £30 and under-16s £15.

The tournament takes place on Saturday July 29 and Sunday July 30.

Wolves will soon announce their pre-season plans for the summer. In the past two years they've travelled to Clairefontaine in France and Cork, Ireland.

Meanwhile the under-23s are in action twice next week with their season having been extended for two important games.

They face West Ham at Molineux on Monday evening (7pm) in a promotion play-off game. If they beat the Hammers in the one-off tie they will host either Newcastle or Fulham later this month, again in a one-off tie.

Promotion would mean facing the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United, Arsenal and Manchester City next season.

Scott Sellars' team are also in action a week tonight when they play Leamington in the final of the Birmingham Senior Cup.

Kick off is at 7.45pm
