Wolves offer free coach travel for re-arranged Carlisle game

Wolves  today announced they are allowing free coach travel for supporters attending the re-arranged game at Carlisle.

The club are inviting home and away season ticket holders, and My Wolves/Young Wolves Members to take up the offer of a free journey for the 360-mile plus round trip from Molineux for the game on Tuesday, November 5.

The decision, taken after the original game was postponed due to Wolves' seven international call-ups, is seen as a thank you to fans for their support this season.

It's the first time the club has taken such an initiative, and follows arch rivals Albion, who have allowed fans free coach trips to 12 games in the last 10 years, and Stoke who are giving fans free travel to every away Premier League match this season.

Wolves have sold out of their allocations for their first four away matches with almost 5,000 supporters travelling to Preston and Port Vale and home crowds topping 20,000, despite the double-dip relegation.

The club has asked Carlisle for an increased away allocation, with approximately 1,500 tickets available.

Head of ticketing and membership Lynne O'Reardon said: "Our support – both home and away – has been outstanding.

"This is a long midweek trip on Bonfire Night, and free away travel is a gesture from the club to thank some of our most loyal fans."

Away season ticket holders will have from October 5-11 to bag their coach ticket, which is worth £23.

Season ticket holders will then have from the October 12-16 to obtain it, after which they will go on general release.

Fans who have already bought their match/coach ticket should contact the ticket office for their coach travel refund.

Match tickets can be purchase online, but free coach tickets can only be secured by calling the ticket office.

Fans travelling on the coaches can visit The North Bank Bar in the Stan Cullis Stand from 12noon before departing at 2pm.

Wolves players will wear black armbands at tomorrow's game at Colchester in memory of former player Peter Broadbent who died this week.
