Evans will now return to Wolves where he is expected to challenge for a first team place next season.

The 21-year-old played 41 times for Phil Parkinson's team in total, scoring four goals.

He also picked up 10 yellow cards and one red during his time at Valley Parade.

Evans posted a statement on Twitter after Friday night's game to thanks those at the club for his time there.

He said: "What a privilege it was for me and my family that I had the chance to play for this massive club.

"Thanks to all the players, staff and everyone involved with the club.

"Absolutely loved my time here.

"Last but not least thanks to the fans who have been behind us 100 per cent.

"It was a shame it ended like this but the way you took to me will never be forgotten.

"All the best to everyone associated with Bradford.

"Hopefully our paths cross again in the future. Up the Bantams."

Welshman Evans, Evans, a £200,000 signing from Newport County in January 2013, was recently praised by Wolves boss Kenny Jackett.

The head coach said: "I have got a lot of time for Lee and I have watched him myself in some big games in League One.

"I think it has been a very good season for him at Bradford.

"I think he has improved and next year I think he is good enough to come back and play in the Championship and play for Wolves."
