"They've made the club proud" - Rob Edwards on Wolves Women's promotion success

Wolves Women were promoted earlier this month.

Rob Edwards is expecting a proud Molineux to make Wolves Women welcome on Sunday after their promotion success.

The squad, staff and head coach Dan McNamara will take a lap of Molineux at half-time on Sunday, as the men play Fulham in their final home match of the season.

It is to celebrate their historic play-off win over Plymouth, which takes them to the WSL2 for the first time and means they become full-time footballers.

At a time when the men’s team are having a torrid season, Edwards has welcomed the positivity the women’s success will bring.

”They'll get the reception that they deserve because they've made the club proud this year and I suppose we're the opposite at the moment,” Edwards said.

“So they'll be getting what they deserve and I really hope everyone's out there and giving them a load of love and makes a load of noise for them because they've done amazingly well and they deserve everything that they're getting at the moment.”
