Sunderland warned to be wary of 'dangerous' Wolves despite Premier League relegation

Sunderland head into the game on the back of a 5-0 loss at home to Nottingham Forest.

Neither side has much to play for but Sunderland manager Regis Le Bris has issued a strong warning to his players over the danger Wolves pose.

Sunderland have been one of the surprise packages of the season - having returned to the Premier League last summer following a lengthy absence.

They began strong, and were pushing in the top half of the table before a recent dip in form.

And that culminated with a 5-0 drubbing at home to Nottingham Forest last time out.

The Black Cats’ boss insisted his side have a ‘responsibility’ to bounce back and finish the season strong.

He also added that Wolves still remain a ‘dangerous’ side despite them heading down to the Championship.

He said: “We all have a responsibility to finish the season strong and we have to push forward.

“Sometimes you can feel the energy at the end of the season dip, but I don’t think it’s the case. I’m hoping for a reaction.

“The players are always ambitious but at the same time, we have to stay humble. If you start dreaming, maybe you can drop your standards.

“They have had a difficult season, especially away from home, but they’ve had good results recently at home. Even against Spurs, the game was tight.

“They are trying to generate momentum for next season, so they are playing with freedom and they are still dangerous, it’s clear. This is the Premier League – you can have a difficult season but still have quality.”
