Still no Wolves bid for Scot McCarthy

Reports north of the border reckon Wolves have made a £1million 'take it or leave it' offer for the hotly-tipped 18-year-old, rated as one of the top youngsters in Europe.

But last week chief executive Jez Moxey denied Wolves had made a bid, saying: "We have no bids in for Scottish-based players.

Now he has added: "There is no change."

Wolves are known to want to add a couple of more youthful 'signings for the future,' to complete manager Mick McCarthy's summer rebuilding in readiness for the Premier League.

There are suggestions in Scotland that McCarthy, who signed a three-year contract last year, may be prepared to wait for Celtic to come in for him.
